When it comes to getting the most money from the sale of your home, our decluttering services are one of the best ways to get there.
Why? When a potential buyer walks through your home, they not only want to picture themselves living in the home, they also want to see how you are taking care of the home. Cupboards stacked to the gills, closets that are used more for storage than for clothes, and boxes scattered about the home can have a negative impact on a potential buyer’s perception of the home, and it can bring down the home’s value. That’s why our clients opt to take advantage of our decluttering services.
The process can seem really daunting at first, but believe us, we’ve seen it all when it comes to homes, and the truth is decluttering isn’t as big a process as you think.
Here’s how it works:
Our main goal is to work with you to create a stress-free plan. We start by addressing the overall scope of work and what is involved in the decluttering process from start to finish. If it’s something that can be done over a few cocktails and packing some boxes, then we always recommend you save some money and do it yourself; we can show you how.
We recommend color coding your items with stickers and deciding: a) What items you will be throwing out? b) What items you will be donating? c) What items you would like to have put in storage? Once you have clarity on this, the rest is a piece of cake.
Once you know what you will be keeping in storage, you can begin packing your items. We always recommend that you consider using bubble wrap and strong boxes so your items don’t get damaged during the move.
If you need to rent a truck and a storage unit, just let us know; and we can take care of that for you. We actually have our own storage facility, and if you are staging your home with us, then we can make use of that space, as well as have our movers bring your items back with them after unloading our furniture in your home.
